0-3 ~ Acceptance and/or love for the 'crazy people'

By now Valentine's Day – aka the day of love, flowers, and chocolates – has come and gone. For most it's not that big of a deal, considering that everyone works that day, everyone goes to school that day, and nothing really changes as far as the mood goes towards love. However, for those adolescents and adults that are not part of a relationship, it can be a very depressing day to say the least. And doubly so if the people are considered 'crazy people'. \-\-\ If there is one thing about 'crazy people' that can be said with certainty, it's that we are often lonely individuals. We have a hard time connecting with others, and the people we do connect with tend to distance themselves from us for all sorts of reasons (yet many of them tend to be rather petty). As far as I know, most 'normal' people don't get the struggles that people with mental illnesses go through, or the challenges that affect their everyday lives. More so, most normal peopl...

0-2 ~ Why the name 'Squelchistan'?

When I began writing this blog post, the Divided Territories of Squelchistan – better known as the United States of America – technically dissolved into an anarchist state thanks to a national government shutdown that lasted close to an entire month. It's a situation that ought to have been avoided by any group of halfway responsible adults, yet has become all too common when the politicos of Squelchistan disagree on stuff, which has been a chronic problem throughout my lifetime. And one I firmly believe will eventually end in civil war. Of course, right now the Squelchistani government is once again operating thanks to a political cease-fire, though I'm doubtful if it will do any good for the 'peace talks'. On the one hand, I have been heavily dreading the inevitable hemoclysm that is likely going to kill off 5% of the Squelchistani population (or about 16.675 million human beings if there is roughly a third of a billion human beings living in Squelchistan right now...

0-S1 ~ My Year of the Pig 2019 Predictions

One thing that I like to do each year around December when I write to various relatives and other significant people that played positive roles in my life – mostly educators – is to present them with a plausible look ahead into the future so as not to be surprised with events that seemed predestined to occur. And while I have not always been correct on my predictions, I have been reasonably accurate on the general moods that do result with each passing year. I figure that, to all discerning eyes, I ought to display these predictions for all to see. First off, I need to explain my methodology: the first major element I rely on for my predictions is Asian Lunar Astrology. Most people learn of this when going to an Asian eatery in one form or another, and indeed so did I. After learning more about it, I discovered that it was not only used to determine in part one's personality, but also to help predict the likely mood regarding the world for the upcoming lunar cycle which starts...
