As we start moving through 2021 (which is NOT going to be that much different from 2020), I would be remiss if the majority of Squelchistanis – myself included – would be pleased beyond words to be done with the politics of the year before. It was bad enough to go through what could be an everlasting pandemic, social conflagrations regarding ethnic/racial mistreatment that could have sparked numerous militant insurgencies, and dealt with ecological disasters that could be hardly worse even if all of the known active volcanoes blew their tops at the same time. But to add one of the most contentious presidential elections since 1860 on top of this? It still boggles the mind that there are humans left alive and there isn’t a Grim Dawn-like scenario in place. But while it would be nice to bury politics into the ground in Squelchistan until 2022 at least, it won’t happen.
